You did the first day, just remind yourself, if you have another one, you have to do that first day again. You are either a smoker or you are not, there is no in between.
I find the patches work well for me (only use the Nicoderm brand the off brand versions suck) but have some draw backs. Being a tech, sometimes I am sweating my balls off and the patch will slide off and end up in my underwear.

I had quit about 8 years ago, but then a traumatic event in my life happened and I picked it up again. That was 5 years ago, still trying to quit again.
