Little update for you fine folks:
I just had the Z4 remotely coded this evening by Okee of TRIPL3_0 Coding. (

He does excellent work. I had him code my Mini Countryman as well. He did all the big things (DVD in motion, disabling seatbelt and key-in-ignition chimes, windows with key fob, mirrors with key fob, disabling legal disclaimer, etc.). Most important to this thread, he was able to disable those yellow LEDs.
Give him a shout if you need to have your car coded. All you need is a D-CAN cable, a laptop (Mac or PC; I have a Mac), and an Internet connection where your car is parked.
