I will try to upload a video to show you the noise the flap was making when I shoke the push rod connecting the flap and the actutator. It was exactly the same as the rattle noise when putting the car to Park and applying gas quickly. Dont forget the entire exhaust system vibrates when the engine is running, pushing exhaust out. The vibration increases in frequency and magntiude with sudden change in RPM. Such vibration makes the flap rattle. If the flap is not designed durable enough, it will still function but with noise and a decrease in reliability, ie, it may not close or open fast enough or completely enough. In fact, small carbon particles in the exhaust gas can probably kill the rotating joint of an exhaust flap with frequent spirit driving
