I experianced something very similar in the fall of 2009 when I purchased my first Z4 30is. I took her to a local car show here in Southern Ontario. As I entered and was about to park her they told me to put her on display the fellow said "This is a lovely car and should be shown not just parked"
Here I was among cars all 30 years older then mine (that is the rule at that place anything less then 30 years old must have approval to be in the car show). See the picture below she looked kind of lost, still got many lovable comments like ... Nice car, real nice, lovely car, such smooth lines etc, etc, it was a fun outing.
