depends where you life and what you are using it for. Living in a foreign country where all the signs are in a different language. 3 different languages for that matter within a 150 mile radius, I wouldn't leave home without it. Its situational.
If you have lived in your home town your entire life and know the streets by heart then yes. If you live in a city foreign to you then the value is most definitely worth it.
