Add in the fact that each frond can grow to be 20 feet long and the part with the seed can become like 60 pounds, it takes many weeks of garbage can space to throw out.
Here are two of the four that I have in the front. The taller one in the photo is just starting to get out of reach.

We don't even put them in the garbage can here. Cut them into 6 foot sections and stack up all we want.
