My experience with NON RFTs is that if the pressure s too high you will feel really loose in the corners. HOwever, I have always been able to run the recommnded pressure on the door jam with no problem. Just when at the track i try to lower it a bit from there. No other issues noticed.
I did have a tire company once put 55PSI in all 4 tires and i didnt think to check it. After a week of driving it was like i had 15000 miles on the car even though there wasnt that much tire wear. I felt a significant drop in traction. Those tires didnt last but about 13000 miless too. I should have forced them to replace the tires.
