Yes, you are correct. Since I have had mine replaced, I have never let the gas tank get below 1/4 and most of the time fill it back up when it is 1/2 or slightly below. I cannot recall where I got the info that this may have been the cause. I have had the high pressure and low pressure replaced. The high pitched whining sound coming from the rear is the LPFP. I never experienced any problems with the HPFP, but they replaced it because of the recall.

Funny, mine only made the noise between full and 1/2 tank. It was perfectly quiet below 1/2 tank so I hated to refill the tank.
