I have lots of N54 DCT cars pushing beyond 800nm if this is important to some.
It all comes down to your choice of tuning platform and tuner

Tuners who state this are tuners who have issue preventing the DCT from slipping after that and then throw the towel in an call it a hardware limitation rather the tuner or tuning platform fault which subsequently your DCT starts having real problems
