Times slips ?

I don't have formal sector times from a transponder but last time I was at a driving school at Willow Springs I was playing with shifting at redline or short shifting early when exiting the corner leading onto longest straight and it seemed like holding the lower gear until redline was advantageous, based on higher terminal speed before braking.

I figured the lower gearing from lower holding the gear to redline was better than shifting earlier.
