As for tools needed. I recommend a small tool kit which includes a crescent wrench. You can pick up one from Harbor Freight (if you have one near you) for like 20$. The set should include basic socket set. metric and standard, crescent wrench and maybe even a screw driver or two.
You don't have to have these for sure just recommended. You can get by with a pair of plyers and a crescent wrench. But usually what happens is you round off the bolts or if you use plyers you can make them look pretty narley. That is why i recommend the socket set. Chances are the bolt size is 10mm. but i cant remember.
