I'd say because the 911 is at least twice the cost (for not twice the performance) unless you get an older one with a melted chocolate interior. eeuw.
Only reason I'd pay the extra for a 911 is if I was in need of part time rear seats. Other than that a boxster/cayman is more than good enough.
