It really depends on the customers definition of better because everyone has different expectations and needs when it comes to tuning. We feel there are many advantages to re-writing the original software instead of tricking it with a plug in device like a piggyback. First you have 100% control over the DME's functions and all of the original software's built in safety features. This allows for very good drivability and the piece of mind in knowing that the cars computer knows exactly what's going on at all times. This keeps issues like limp modes, thrown codes and erratic random engine behavior from becoming an issue. Other small advantages are things like not having to remove plug in boxes and erase codes for routine trips to the dealer. Some don't see this as an inconvience but many do. BMW has recently added hidden tuner detection codes in the N54 software that triggers when the DME detects third party manipulation or interference. Dealers can scan for this code when you take your car in for service. Our software does not trigger this hidden code or any other codes unless there is a real problem with the engine. We can also raise the stock rev limiter and remove the top speed governor correctly for customers who request it.

Aside from all of that this software was designed and road tested specifically for the Z4 35i. We made sure DCT customers would not exceed the transmissions torque limits set by BMW and risk damage or failure. We also made sure the shifting on the DCT works 100% with the added power of the software flash so that the car drives as good if not better then stock.
