I've found that some of the shuffling noises I had were from the black plastic covers on the rear boot (trunk) hinges. After taking off these plastic parts, a lot of the shuffling and squeaking stopped. I still haven't found the annoying noise from the passenger side. Which seems to calm down when someone is sat there. I think a lot of it is about weight in the car preventing some of the harsh vibrations from the stiff suspension and hard tyres.
