Yes, he's right. +22 offset with a 9.5" rim is already pushing it real close. Let alone with a 10" rim. A +35 offset with a 10" rim would be also quite close to sitting flush. I would shoot for more a round a +38 or +40 offset if you're going with a 10" rim.

For the front, that's the same situation. An 8.5" rim would be pushing it real close at +22, if not already rubbing. A 9" rim would need at least +35 to make sure it doesn't rub, at least whilst not turning. Not sure what'll happen when you need to make a tight/sharp turn with the wheels turned all the way.

For reference, the most common setup on our cars is a 8.5" front with +35 and a 9.5" rear with +33 or +35. This leaves about 10mm on both the front and rear of clearance, so those who want to add 5 or 7mm spacers can do so.
