Are you going to put snow tires on it? If not then you are trying to buy the best car for snow but not worrying about the most important part.
Then you live in the mid-Atlantic and worried about deep snow? Seems like the criteria on the car is to deal with the 1% conditions. Same reason I don't own an AWD high ground clearance car, just put good tires on it and move on.
