The v4/v5 produces more power and is more brutal than ess st1 obviously due to different boost targets. I haven't yet updated to st2 due to summer temps over here but I believe they will produce equal power numbers as the st2 targets 15psi.
The driveability difference is night and day though. No hiccups, slippage, worries, codes, strange noises, waiting for a new map and the throttle management is more linear and predictable even compared to stock. According to ess a few cycles of ignition on/off will clear any codes when switching maps.
Again the v5 is more brutal and has some can features that you might miss, but with ess you will enter harmony again.
