latest delivery!

drove 250 kilometers to bring it back home, first impression, happy , indeed, but with mixed feelings.
ok that is a z23i, which does represent the large bulk of z4 deliveries in Europe. (according to salesman).

on the pros, waoo factor, design, and superb cabin atmosphere ! am tall, and feel at ease, lot of room, and bright cabin. not as cramped in my previous slk and boxster.
Fit and finish, damm' all right at first glance. The car is very , very stable, however, fully agree with previous comments, this is not a sport car. it is a fast car, that's it, and nice to drive. Too much body roll in normal (havent tried sport yet long enough to judge difference), cornering is not faster than in my previous series 1 and averagely powered diesel will follow you without any problem ! yes, this engine is smooth, sounds really great (there is a huge difference with a 325i), ,but so linear, little torque.... pitty. And the car .. well. feels heavy... too heavy.. at least gear box is a very quick. So with this package, dont expect driving experience much sportier than compact/sedan, (thos used to torky diesel such as 120d series may even found it more boring..) again, driving position, design, cabin atmosphere makes the difference, without even mentioning top down. So overall, dont regret, and car is quite confy for long distance with accomodating chassis.

what else, found the cabin quite noisy though on motoway, lot of wind noise, radio pro + hifi rocks ! very good, surprise, as it seems better than in series 1 and 3. however, difficulty to catch some radio stations ? antenna too weak ?
seats are ok, and look good, and well maintained. ah yes, on bad roads, already some cabin noises... ok its a roadster.... but still, hope this wont be an issue in the future..
