mine was click in bindings so it is quite flat. Yes you would have to put it in at an angle and there is no rubbing on the sides.
Z4 is my only car and the bottom of the mountain is significantly below the snow line here so there is no salt on the 15 min ride to the station. YOu do take a 5 min lift from the base up to the 20 run resort where yes, there is significant amount of snow.
