Sorry to step on your digiti pedis, doc. I said medical "culture," not medical culture. I fully understand the centrality of heritage to the OP. The kid on CL was also of a similar heritage (likely the same one) and the same career track. People of traditional American culture tend to read into these threads a destructive parental overindulgence that results in offspring possessing an intensely self-referential worldview, an overblown sense of entitlement, and a shocking callousness regarding the struggles of most other people. I am one of those traditional Americans. |
