I agree never been an issue for me as well. in fact the dealer normally puts their plates frames on the vehicle and in most all cases they screw into a threaded hole. BMW in the US has you drill into the mount plate. crazy if you asked me doing something so cheap. I took off the mount plate to show the nuts located in the back of the mount plate. for many of you, this may sound like small peanuts but man am I surprised to see such a cheap way to mount a license plate in the US. See pic Holes on the left are from the screws made by drilling into the plastic. see how the designed threaded holes are not even used
