very interesting experience i'd like to share and get your feedback on. After receiving my California license plates, (ching ching) I eagerly went to the rear plate but found the plastic mount plate had threads 6 mm x 20 with well mounted nuts used to attach the license plate. Unfortunately all license plates and frames sold by BMW or others in the US do not align with these holes requiring you to drill into the plastic of the mount bracket. What a joke. in fact, I find it hard to believe BMW does not offer a license plate frame that allows the license plate to sit within the frame then move the holes so you can mount the license plate using the threads from BMW. For all of you in the US, I bet you all have had to screw into your license plate plastic mount instead of using what BMW has provided. would like to hear from you on your experience
