I am not an engineer but the HP90 can handle over 700lb-ft, so if BMW is already using it on other 7's then I don't know why they hamstrung the new flagship diesel engine with a lower version that can't. Maybe SCOTT26 knows the real story. |
The 8HP90 isn't available in AWD nor does it support ConnectedShift, Sailing, or "Launch Control". The Hellcat 8HP90 is built "in-house".
The SQ7 uses the 8HP95X and there is no mention of which specific transmission is fitted to the 750d/Ld.
As Scott said, this won't be the top of the range diesel.
