Most people in the market for an EV truck are likely not looking at towing much more than a boat or utility trailer, which the Rivian is going to pull fine. Will it need more charging for long distance towing? Yes, and thats the owners issue to deal with.

Even though the Rivian has a tow capacity of 11k lbs., is simply not the correct vehicle for heavy duty work like hauling heavy equipment, jobsite cargo trailers, etc, and the folks needing a truck for those types of things are not going to be looking at anything EV.

As I already stated, this is a good EV option for those looking for a light-medium duty use truck.
